JOB DESCRIPTION

Join an iconic Brisbane bistro renowned for its vibrant breakfast and lunch service, operating seven days a week, and hosting bespoke weddings year-round. We take pride in using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including produce from our own kitchen garden, while building strong relationships with local farmers and suppliers.

We are seeking a Head Chef to lead our high-volume kitchen, drive culinary creativity, and showcase the best of seasonal ingredients. This role is ideal for a Sous Chef ready to take the next step or an existing Head Chef. This role offers a lifestyle opportunity, with most evenings off, while still crafting exceptional culinary experiences. Experience with a wood-fired oven is highly desirable.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a senior chef in a high-volume café or restaurant.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and mentor a dynamic kitchen team.

  • Expertise in wages, rostering, and cost control to manage kitchen operations effectively.

  • A commitment to upholding the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.

  • Creativity and innovation to drive menu development and enhance the dining experience.

  • Ability to manage food and labour costs in line with business goals.

  • A collaborative approach to fostering a positive and professional kitchen environment.

  • Attention to detail in maintaining consistent quality control.

  • Experience working with a wood-fired oven is highly desirable.
